Students will read, discuss and write about interpretations to Zora Neal Hurston's novel Their Eyes Were Watching God. Analysis of the novel will focus on the following universal themes: race and racism, search for self, repression and possession. Students will consider personal and societal connections when forming opinions for analysis.
